I am looking for David Cripps b. ca 1823/25 in MO according to census records. He was a carpenter who married 1853 in Claiborne Parish LA to Margaret Alexander. He owned land in that Parish in 1855. In the 1850 LA census he is single. I don't know if he was in the Civil War. I don't know where or when he died. There are many Cripps in MO, IL, IN census records in the early 1800's. David lived in the town of Homer, LA in Claiborne Parish. He and wife had two daus., Lorenza Izora born 1854 and Geniva Cornelia born 1857. Margaret Alexander Cripps remarried circa 1866 to a Merritt.

Gen info: David Cripps, Perry Co MO, 1830 census. 1860 LA Census shows David Cripps Claiborne Parish, Thomas Cripps Orleans Parish, Fred Cripps Orleans Parish, Laura Cripps Rapides Parish, Margaret Cripps Orleans Parish, Reason Cripps Rapides, Frederick Cripps Orleans Parish. David Cripps, French and Spanish Land Grants in St. Louis, MO. Does anyone have info on MO/IL Cripps?
