I have searched this site and have not found any references to what follows, so I'm assuming it is new information. While researching in Humphreys County, TN I visited the Crockett Cemetery in Hustburg at the junction of Crockett Road and Old State Route 1, looking for my great grandmother Emily Jane Crockett Lawrence's grave. She is buried there, and while page 123 of "Crockett Cousins" 1986 printing has her birth date as 1/2/1852 it should be 1/22/1852 and her date of death is February 17, 1881. Further there is an obelisk stone with two other Crockett's. Page 123 also shows a John W. Crockett d.y. John W. is one of these two Crockett's on the obelisk and he was born in 1857 and died August 1, 1870. He is the son of John and Louvenia Crockett as shown on the stone. On the back side from John W. is the following as best as I could make it out: Eudura Crockett died May (or Mar) 1878, daughter of John and Lu_ena, aged 19 years. This is probably an unknown daughter of John and Louvenia (or Louvena) Crockett since she is not listed in my 1986 printing of "Crockett Cousins". Does anyone have any documentation or evidence to support my hypothesis Eudura is an unknown daughter of John and Louvenia Crockett? Note the Humphreys County Cemetery Book by Anderson and Garrett (1966) lists Emily Jane Lawrence and John W. Crockett but does not list Eudura; they probably forgot to check all sides of the obelisk. There are many unmarked graves in this cemetery. Larry Young Notify Administrator about this message?
