I don't find many people looking for Tilman Crockett. I will share what I already know about Tilman Crockett.
I am a descendant of Tilman Crockett and wife Elizabeth Dennis married Oct 27, 1796. (Bonded) Franklin Co VA, Marshall Wingfiled's book, Marriage Bonds of Franklin County Virginia 1786-1858 page 66. The actual marriage is recorded in Marriages of Montgomery and Fincastle 1 Nov 1796.
I have a land transaction from Tazewell Co VA that indicates that Tilman Crockett is the grandfather of my Gr Gr Grandmother Luvisey Stump Belcher. She transfers her interest in her grandfather Tilman Crockett's land to her 1/2 brother Crockett Stump.
Tilman's will is probated October 1839 Will Book 2 page 149
Abstract as follows;
To his wife Araminta (2nd wife); to his three daughters by his first wife Elizabeth, viz: Ellenor Wilson, Hannah Owens, and Polly Stump; and to his other children Elizabeth Jane, John, and Lavisa Franklin.
So Tilman Crockett had 2 wives and a total of 7 children.
My Gr Gr Gr grandmother was Polly Crockett Stump.
Polly Crockett married first Michael Stump and had two ch. Catherine and Crockett Stump
Polly Crockett Stump married second time Jacob Stump and had one known daughter (my gr gr grandmother) Luvisey Stump who married Obediah Belcher.
Do you know who Tilman Crockett's father is?
