Crockett/Hawkins

I was wondering if anyone has done any research on Wilson Hawkins, the brother of John Crockett's wife, Rebecca Hawkins. Wilson Hawkins I have not found much on, except that I have read that he stayed close to Rebecca and is buried near her. I was wondering if he had any children? I do know he went to the "Mississippi Territory" in the early 1800's - from an early Lewis memoir. His sister, Mary Elizabeth, married David Lewis.

I would also like to ask if anyone has any family tradition that may help me flesh out her brother, Matthew Hawkins. He looks to have been one of her older brothers. There is nothing extant that I have been able to find, to give me an idea of the apparent alienation from the rest of the family. He and his older brother, Aaron, served in the early militias in NE TN. Sometimes, original official records do not tell us enough and/or they sometimes are mistaken. I have found mistakes in official records that just make me very nervous - not in this family. I am hoping that someday there may surface some branch of this family that may have family stories/tales/traditions that explain some things. Thanks, Jeanne Bornefeld
