Sorry to dash your 'Hope'. Not a single hair was raised here, as you were OBVIOUSLY anticipating. 1) Informed Crockett cousins, and even the possible vs. wannabe cousins such as myself (who are interested in the truth), KNOW that 'David' imbibed. 2) 'Davey' was an expert marksman and killed many bears as they were a staple food and everything was used, including the fat and bones, meat and fur in order to survive. It is known that he was a fur trader. His dogs only traced bears. They wouldn't trace anything else, as is the nature of a dog, to track only the same animal in which it has been trained. Read his autobiography. It is interesting, because not only does it tell about the man, but the times in which he lived.3) As a Congressman, he defended the Indians from being forced from their homeland, which tells me a little about the mans conscience. This was in direct opposition to Andy Jackson and his boys which is possibly the real reason why he was killed at the Alamo. Talk about a hero. He is mine. Instead of besmudging his name, why don't you spend that time learning how to spell and write, and while you're at it, read a little history.
