Thanks so very much for the information on Annanias Crockett, Debra. He was my maternal grandfather's brother. Their father was Lewis (sometimes spelled Louis) Henry Crockett and his mother was Rachel (sometimes spelled Raechel) Evans Crockett. I'm in the process of organizing years of research on my Crockett relatives in preparation for writing a genealogy book. I've traced all of my grandfather's siblings except Annanias. Several family sources including some handwritten records say he went from Tilghman Island,Talbot Co.,Maryland to Texas with his son, Lewis. Contact with that branch of the family was lost years ago. My ultimate dream is that some descendant of Annanias might read the post and make contact.

All of the Crocketts in that branch originated on Tangier Island, Accomac Co., Virginia in the Chesapeake Bay where their ancestor settled in the late 1600's. I have a double dose of Crockett genes in that my Father's family tree has Crocketts who were from Southwestern Virginia and are distantly related to the Davey Crockett people. Thanks so very much for your help. Dorsey Howard-Chester, Virginia
