I believe that we might share a common relative in
Malissa Crockett. My great grandfather was John A Bobbitt.
He married Mattie E Pyland in 1875 in Gibson County, Tennesse. Mattie Pyland was, I believe, the daughter of William Pyland
and Malissa Crockett. Malissa Pyland(nee Crockett) is listed in the 1880 Federal Census for Dallas County, Texas.
Her husband, William Pyland, had died before the Census was taken. She was a neighbor of John A Bobbitt and
Mattie Bobbitt(nee Pyland)...her daughter. This family moved soon afterward to Marion County,
Texas....where my grandfather William White Bobbitt was
born in 1881.
I'm not certain if there is a connection here, but
I've tried to follow the paper trail. If you have more info, please let me know
