Richard,
The Crothers family belongs to my sister-in-law. I was able to talk with her last night. The information she gave me is as follows.
John Crothers, born in1799/1800 in PA or MA. He married before Dec. 25, 1825, as that is when their eldest child, Ann was born.
In 1830 they lived in town of Clarence, Erie Co. NY
In 1840 they lived in Clarence, Erie Co.NY
John Crothers died between 1840 and 1844 in Erie Co. NY

A daughter of John and Mary(Polly Wyckoff Crothers, born 1830 in NY, name of Elizabeth June Crothers, married William Ebler, and they came to Michigan around 1860.

Mary(Polly)Wyckoff was born in 1805 in either NY or Canada.
On the 1870 Michigan Census, Mary(Polly) is found in Brooks twp. Newaygo Co. MI--her age is given as 64, born in NY.

Am going to the Dumont Family Reunion this weekend and will see Mary and husband Roy. They will have other information for us. Will let you know how this new information turns out.
Charlotte
