Mary Hunt was a remarkable woman and I would love to meet one (or more) of her descendants. She was born circa 21 Oct. 1913 in Richmond, Virginia, losing her mother Abigail practically at birth when the mother died of burns when her dress caught fire. Mary was raised by cousins in Illinois. She would graduate from college and become an executive at a time when few women did. She raised five daughters and a son almost by herself as she was widowed at an early age. She died at age 82 in Oak Lawn.
Mary was the granddaughter of Arthur and Mary (Martin) Cruise and the daughter of Joseph A. Cruise. Arthur Cruise was my great-grandfather's brother.
I know all this from public records (well, mostly) and would love to put a face to the remarkable story she has told me through these records.
