I have an Ellen Cunnane married to Michael O'Halloran in 1922. Ellen was born in 1884.

Then we have a gap until fairly contemporary history.

Robert, your message is confusing because you start off talking about dates in the 1700's and almost immediately jump to the late 1800's. Could you, if you're still around here, clearify that somewhat.

One of the big problems on the island is the common use, or re-use, of common names like Bridget, Mary, Anne, Margaret.... See the tie in with the religion.

In 1893 "Inishbofin, Through Time and Tide" reports that 7 families, out of the 186 on the island, were Cunnane. There were only 50 different surnames in use at that time.
