Joy,

You've shared some excellent information. Writing to cemeteries is a great way to get lots of genealogy information. Hopefully, another D'Antoni researcher has connections with your line and can benefit from it and will provide even more information. Unfortunately, I have very little D'Antoni info.

The only D'Antoni in my line that I know of in the US was Greatgrandmother Biagia D'Antoni who may have been married to a first husband when she came from Sicily (possibly Corleone) and remarried Vincenzo Venturella after coming to the US. About 4 of their children were born in Louisiana. It appears that she had little or no contact with her family except for written correspondence with her sister Lucia in Corleone up until 1930.

I was told that a D'Antoni family was involved in some way with a freight company named Standard Fruit and Steamship in New Orleans up until the 1960's or 1970's. Can anyone shed some light on this?

Candy
