I have to correct what I posted in a previous message. Joseph Archibald was the son of Elspeth Campbell, not Lady Mary. Elspeth was the daughter of Sir John Campbell of Glenorchy, a baronet. JA emigrated to Panama, where he became a Catholic (and probably add the name Joseph on the occassion of his Catholic baptism) and married the sister of the Bishop of Huamanga. I'm one of his many descendants. Pianist Claudio Arrau is also one of them.
