Patricia, With the help of some other researchers I have been able to go back one more generation than previously posted. John Angus Darrach's parents were Donald b: abt. 1796, Islay, Argyll, Scotland, d: Sept. 8, 1878. His mother, Catherina Ann was also born at Islay, Argyll, Scotland. They were married June 15, 1819, Bowmore Parish, Islay. Both are buried at Stayner Union Cemetery, Nottawasaga Twp., Simcoe Co. Other known children in the family were: Colin b: 1831, Argyll John b: Apr. 7, 1833, Scarrabus, Argyll d: 1912, Stayner Union Cemetery m: Mary Buie Duncan b: 1836 Ontario, d: 1874 Nottawasaga Twp. m: Christina ? who was born abt. 1841, Scotland. Ann b: abt. 1841 Ont. d: 1916, E. Nottawasaga Presby. Cemetery, Simcoe Co., m: March 7, 1861 to John Currie b: abt. 1835, Scotland. The only Christina listed married into the family. However since this couple was married in 1819, there should be more children since the earliest one I have wasn't born until 1831. At this point I don't have any more info. Sorry.
