A msesage for Carol Cooper,

Having read your message on Thomas and Elizabeth Daubney dated Aug 29 2006, I will tell you what I have found. Thomas and Elizabeth had a daughter Mary born 1809 in Sibsey, She can be found in 1841 as a Female servant in Burton Coggles at Henry Bellamy household (Farmer) where he was living with his Four children Ann b c 1833, William b c 1835, Thomas b c 1836 and Henry b c 1838. It appears that Henry snr was a widow. the address was Rectory, Burton coggles. Source Citation: Class: HO107; Civil Parish: Burton Coggles; County: Lincolnshire; Enumeration District: 6; Page: 8; Line: 5; GSU roll: 438756.

In 1842, Mary married Henry Bellamy, in Burton Coggles,Linc's,

In 1851 Burton Coggles, they can be found at Farm No 37, With Henry's children minus Ann, and 3 more children mothered by Mary, John b c 1843, Richard b c 1844 and Ellen b c 1846 all children born Burton Coggles. the interesting point about this census is that they had a visitor with them on the night of the census by the name of JOSEPH KENT (60 visitor wid) born abt 1791 in NOCTON, occupation: Retired Schoolmaster.

I have for sometime now thought that Mary's Mother, Elizabeth's maiden name was Kent, as Mary's Brother John was given the second name of Kent. On the IGI there is a Joseph Kent Christened: 24 JAN 1790 Nocton, Lincoln, Son of JOHN KENT and ELEANOR. Elizabeth was born in Nocton, but there is no sign of her on the IGI. Also, in the 1841 and 1851 census John Kent Daubney's occupation was a Schoolmaster, is this coincidence or I am I correct in my assumptions? Also Mary had a sister named Eleanor.

Question:- Are Joseph Kent and Elizabeth Brother and Sister?

I have not been able to work this one out.

So it appears that the Mary Ann that you have found to have married Luke Rylatt might not belong to this family as I can't imagine Thomas and Elizabeth naming two daughters Mary that survived.

Looking on the IGI for Mary Ann born c 1816 I found:

Mary Ann Daubney Christening: 23 JUL 1815 Brinkhill, Lincoln
Parents Edward and Frances Daubney Batch No: C027261. perhaps this is her.

Sue
