Peter Dietz baptized 9 January 1757 in Trappe, Montgomery county, PA. Parents Peter and Elenora. Peter served in the revolutionary war and was awarded a pension, #540925 in 1834 at which time he named his wife Susan and children Peter b.1802, Rachael b. 1805, Anna b.1805 and Sally b. 1810. As these children were born quite late I would guess that there were others. Peter b. 1802 married13 November 1805 Naomi Myers in Montgomery County, VA. He was a wagon maker and moved to Illinois about 1845. He is my ancestor through his daughter Martha who married James A. Nichols in Marion County, Il. The elder Peter is not found in the 1840 census so he probably died. Several years later (I can't remember exactly when but the date is in my records somewhere) his daughter Rachael died in the poorhouse.
