I am sorry to say I can not conclusively help you on the Samuel Detrick who joined the 69th Indiana Infantry.

However my Samuel Detrick who lived in Allen County In died in Milan twp Allen county on Jul 27, 1867. I have not found documentation of this date. It is known that some read the date on his tomb stone as the 1867, but the stone is quite worn, and in my opinion the reading is questionable. Further there fact that he does not appear with his family in the 1860 census.

I beleive tThe Samuel Detirck of the 69th Indiana,
