How curious to see that name after all these years. I remember a dinner party in Geneva in 1970 at which my partner at table was the very young and blonde Beatrice de Montmollin. She must have made quite an impression if I retain her name in memory so many years later.

I recall our hostess mentioned that her family was "big" in the canton of Vaud.

(The dinner was given by the Canadian ambassador at the UN Disarmament Conference, George Ignatieff, whose son was a fellow student and a friend ever since. The other guests were the ambassador's cousin Prince Ignatieff and Princess Ignatieff, his wife. Heady company for a 17 year old straight from school!
