Were the DeYoungs of Eastern Passage & Pomquet, N.S. related? Have been told that the name was originally D'Eon.

Have you found any connection to Louis DeYoung of Eastern Passage? I have a marriage 1807, Halifax, N.S. to Mary Ann Himmelman, but source not recorded.
11 children 1811 to 1830; my great grandmother Susan, the 9th, born 1827/32, died 11 Feb. 1928. She married William Josiah Kelly.

I was told that a Joseph DeYoung & Marie Francoise Horne, were his parents, but no source given, just that it was a consensus of some Horne descendants. Have not found their marriage nor Louis' birth.
