Marinus Smith or DeSmith, b. Holland, abt. 1854

Recently found out that my SMITH line once went by DeSmith prior to immigrating to America. Anyone out there have a connection to a Marinus DeSmith born in Holland abt. 1854? I found the following United States census record in Richmond, Ontario County, NY for the year 1880:

Marinos Smith, Relationship Self, Age 27, Birthplace Holland, Occupation Farm Laborer, Father's Birthplace Holland, Mother's Birthplace Holland

Mary E. Smith, Relationship Wife, Age 20, Birthplace NY, Occupation Keeping House, Father's Birthplace ENG, Mother's Birthplace, ENG

John H. Smith, Relationship Son, Age 1 month, Birthplace NY, Occupation At Home, Father's Birthplace Holland, Mother's Birthplace NY.

I believe this is my Great-Great Grandparents and this is my Gr-Grandfather John Henry Smith. I also believe that the spelling of Marinos may be an error by the census taker. I believe tha Mary E. Smith's maiden name to be Lubbuck.

Anyone else out there share the same line and could exchange info, I would greatly appreciate a response to directly or rtespond on this board. Thank you most kindly, Connie Cooper-Szymczak
