Lynn, Regarding Ransom Distin - I have his death date as 12 Oct 1897 in Jewett, NY. He married second on 16 Dec 1864 to a Mrs. Mary Johnson (widown of David Johnson). Her maiden name was Bogardus. Ransom and Mary had two children - Charles L. born 12 Apr 1866 and W.R. born 1873. I got this info from Mary's Pension Declaration.
My husband is related through the Johnson family so I don't have any more on the Distins. Would like to know what happened to Charles and W.R. Do you have any info?
