I have just begun on the Doak line. Since I found immediate inconsistencies in the published genealogies, I thought I would check the boards. I think 1. Tennessee Records: Bible Records and Marriage Bonds, Jeanette Tillotson Acklen et al says Thankfuls father is John. I found another published genealogy ' Notable Southern Families Volume VI" published in 1933 that says her father is John's brother Samuel. I am going from memory here.
I have read your postings that describe the published info as unreliable and said you would discuss it further in later postings. Did you?
My husband is a descendant of Elizabeth Thankful Doak and Major William Hall
