v. 6. Doak family, by French

Samuel Doak lived and died in County Antrim of the Province of Ulster, Ireland, where the name is spelled Doach, Doage, Doack, Doak, etc. His sons John, Nathaniel, Robert, David, and Samuel Doak, with their sister, Thankful, and probably another sister, Julia, emigrated to America about 1740, and settled for a short time in East Nottingham Township, Chester Co., Pennsylvania. From there they moved to Augusta Co., Virginia, where on September 1741, a deed was granted to the emigrant, Samuel Doak, by William Beverly, owner of the Beverly Manor Estates. The book deals primarily with the line if emigrant Samuel Doak. Nothing is said of John Doak other then that he was a member of Capt. John Christian's Co.

Other sources say John Doak married Mary Wilson in Virginia and moved to Alamance, Guilford Co., NC.

John Doak was born in 1712 (and died in 1806?)

James Doak d. 1806 m 1775 Mary Paisley
Robert Doak m Hannah

Hannah's last name is said to be Armstrong.
