My Mary Ann Doan , born 1826 daughter of Abraham Doan of Humberstone, Welland Ontario,And Elizabeth Swartz,
Mary Ann listed in the Doane history as married to Josiah LOCKE, who in fact married Mary ann DEAN, [The Ontario Register, 1780-1870]
Mary Ann Doan is my G G Grandmother and I have found her through many sources, Marriage records, news paper reports about her adventures, her childrens letters and hers to them, albums{ I have her portrait} , family Bible information, cemetery visits,Her Unknown sister Sophia who was living here in Chautauqua Co after the death of her husband ROOP/ROUP in Canada , died Ripley NY and is buried Canada.Mary Ann was in fact married to RICHARD EDWARD PRATT, born 1832 in Crowland, Welland CO Ontario and they both died here in Chautauqua Co NY, and are buried Ripley cemetery. I sent this new information to the Doane Assoc. but I do not know if it has been corrected. There are many descendants of hers and Pratt. I am one.
This is the most obvious error of mine.
Next is Elijan DOAN[E] PA to Canada.Omitted as a son of Joseph.
