simcoe ontario,havent seen any of them in the forum; infro from www.ogs.on.ca, here is a partial of what i found, names and dates, hope its helpful; (ALL LAST NAMES ARE DOAN);;;;;; JUDAH, CATHARINE-1822-1872,AGNES-1831-, ALFRED- 1826-, ALMIRA- 1822-1915, ESTER-1840-1924, HARRISON-1824, IRA-1828,LAMBERT-1831-, MARY- 1834-1910,REBECCA-1835-, SARAH-1841-,EMILY-1859-1916, GEORGE-1862-1921,HARRISON FEDERICK-C-1880,IRA-1860, JIAMESHARTLY-C-1825, MAGGIE-C-1867, SUSANNAH-1916, OSCAR MORNINGSTAR-1922,ADELAIDE-C-1885, EDWINLINDSEY-1883-,ERNEST PERCIVAL-1878-1938,ETHEL HELENA-1873-,JAMES HEBER-1876-,LAURA AGUSTA- 1871-,ALTIA JANE,1861-1848,HAMES HARTLEY-1866-1940,JOSHEPHINE-1859-1950,LAMBERT-1831-1914,WILLIAM HENRY LAMBERT-1872-1894 , D.W.-C-1853, i got to thinking if any doans came to canada they would have to cross water , so shipping and ports came to mind, simcoe, welland , port colborne are all old turn of the century ports, logic, from ohio which is across the lake from me, simcoe- up the st. clair river from the states, migration by ship would be the only avenue to travel, through the great lakes , niagara river would not of been a way as it just cant be done with niagara falls, im not sure when the first welland canal was built, but i do know there was 3 of them, think waterways, hope this helps
