I am looking for relatives of Dorra Belle Doane. Dorra was born july 31,1879
and died Nov.9 1949. I do not know where she was born or where she died.
Dorra had two brothers(no dates on them): Authur who married Ruth Mills
(no dates) and Hatcher who married Melissa Cawell(Spelling is in question
here). Dorra's sisters were: Daisy who died when she was a child, Dolly who
Married James Hatfield, Viola who married Walter Phillips. Dorra Belle Doane
Married William Isac(spelling?) Moore who was born on August 8,1870 and
Died March 14, 1940. William's Brothers were: Jim,Joe,John,George, and
Tom(sorry we have no dates). Williams sisters were: Minnie and Mary( could
be spelled Marry). William Moore and Dorra Belle Doane had two children
that we know of and they may have had only two, they are:
Mary Francis Moore and Maxine(who died in 1913). Mary Francis Moore
Married Hurshel Dean Jackson on Sept 22, 1931. Hurshel and Francis had
four boys: William Dean(Bill) 1933-Still Living. Charles Robert(Bob)1934-still
Living. James Joseph 1936-still Living and Jack Leon-1937-still Living. Hurshel
dean Jackson was born in Ravenden,Arkansas in 1909 and died Nov.18,1998.
Mary Francis Moore Jackson was born oct. 12,1914 and died Apr. 26,2002.
William Issac Moore who is metion aboved was the Mayor of Portia,Arkansas
for over 50 years and started the Portia Picnic which draws tens of thousands
of people every year and is still going strong today. All politicians who(in Arkansas) want
to get elected always go the Portia Picnic on July 4th.
