No, I don't think so. Joe father was Jonathan Doan who married Ester Elizabeth Kaake. His father was John Doan who I think married Elizabeth Lamphear. But I can find nothing on John or his wife Elizabeth. I just know they were in Canada. Jonathan married Ester in Norfolk, Cananda in 1851.
The other John, Joe's brother, married Bertha Mae Babcock in Peck, Michigan.
So, I think we're on a different tree in the family line. Unless, John Doan married before Ester or after.
