"Hattie" DODT or DOEDT was born in Germany c1870, parents unknown. She was in Lucas Co, Ohio in 1894 when she married Gustave Robert SIEGLER, parents unknown. Children born were: Arthur Herman, Gertrude, Hattie, Ruth, Martha, Gustave Jr, Walter, Gerald, and Esther. Hattie died in Toledo, Lucas Co, Ohio in 1936. According to her obituary she had two sisters living in the Toledo, Ohio area at that time, Hermine, wife of August Bouchardt, and Bertha, wife of Otto Gomell, both having been born in Germany.
On various census immigration is listed between 1877 and 1893. Gustave actually immigrated from Germany in 1892 but the dates given are always the same for both Hattie and Gustave. Gustave's naturalization papers list Schimervitz, Schunerovitz or Schimervitz as his place of birth. The papers are not very clear and the original film is no better.
