Bessie Murphy Dowd was born about 1882 in NY and appears on both the 1920 and 1930 censuses as living in Brooklyn with children Eleanor and William Dowd. In 1920 she was with husband Townsend Dowd, in 1930 a widow. Her brother, William Murphy, lived with her in 1920 and she with him in 1930.

I have quite a bit of info for anyone related to this family.
