Do you have a copy of the DOWNERS OF AMERICA by David R. Downer? There is a very short record of "The North Carolina Downers" on pages 138-143 of that publication. If you do not have this, I would be glad to send the information to you privately.
My own line descends through Francis' son John, who married Martha May and then through Wm Alexander and his second wife, Eliza Brown Guthrie. My grandfather, Bruce, was their second son.
If you are interested in this branch of the family, I'd be glad to fill you in.
