I, too, am a descendant of the Anson Co. Downer family through Elizabeth Downer. Elizabeth is named in Micajah Downer's estate papers as his sister, and I'm not certain if it has been positively established that Micajah and Francis were brothers. I've read the John Downer excerpts from the "Downers of America" book, too, but there seem to be lots of gaps.
