Dear Susan,
I have not had time to confirm anything yet, but I found the information regarding Jacob Downer and Daniel Downer on the Mormon site, lds.org
Just go to that site, then click on Family History, and from there you can do searches. I don't know who posted that information, but it certainly helped a lot.
This is a new direction for me, so I guess I will look at the Census, and then hopefully I will find a source for Uniontown, PA.
