my G+ grandmother was Lydia Downer Gates. She was born
12 Jul 1810 in Shaftsbury, Bennington, Vermont. Her Father was Simon Downer, born 1788 in Shaftsbury, and His father was Cyprian Downer, born in Franklin Ct. in 1741. I found a ton of information about this line on the internet, but I havent verified any yet!
