My Grandfather was Ralph Downer and he had a Grocery store in Buffalo when my Dad was a kid. I know there is some sort of connection to South Dakota (I think) where there was some land he was supposed to have inherited, so I'm thinking his parents may be the ones who settled in Buffalo. There are no other Downers in that area that I ever knew of except our family (my dad's siblings)I will ask my father what his Grandfather's name was, and try to get more info.
