My name is Joseph E. Duffner. We have very simular names in the family.My Fathers name was John F.Duffner, & my grandfathers name was Frank X. Duffner! I have been trying to trace another John H. Duffner, who I thought might be a great Uncle, but I now know that that isn't so. The infow has to much background to it,& might be one of your relatives.In the State of Missouri in approximatly 1860 there were at least four different Duffner familys, & all with good tales. maybe I can shed some light on the subject.
