Yes, her maiden name is Duval. I am not quite sure of her parents names. I know that Dr. J.C. Duvall lived in or near Bastrop and that he had several slaves. I am particularly interested in the following who may have been former slaves to Dr. Duvall in Bastrop, TX:
Louis, Male
Lewis, Male
George, Male
Spencer, Male
Nancy or Noney?, Female, Mulatto

I do not know if Ellen's parents were Spencer and his wife Martha, or if she was the daughter of Nancy/Noney Duval. Ellen is my great-great grandmother and she said that her father was white and her mother was black. I am trying to find the names of her parents.

Additionally, is Dr. J.C. Duvall related to the Duvalls that lived in or near Anderson County, Palestine, TX during the 1850s and 1860s.

Thanks,
Stephanie Edwards
