Hi Ada,

I'm the ggg granddaughter of Rufus, and yes, he had a son Joseph C. :-) I am through his son George W., but would be more than happy to help you research the family. I live in Gallia County, so I can search records here, and perhaps hop over to Lawrence County, if you need me to.

I just posted a few things on this list under the Melissa thread (#238). I have a copy of Rufus' deed, as well as a court document following his death. Unfortunately, Rufus died severely in debt.

I have a website at http://tinyurl.com/8jz6b This should take you directly to my Eachus names, and you can click around from there. A lot of the early information comes from a wonderful site I can't find anymore. Does anyone know what happened to http://www.eachus.co.uk/ ? It was a great site! If you have any questions, or would like any specifics let me know. I just haven't had any cause to do Joseph's line, but now I have an incentive ;-) BTW, the Beaver's are a big family in the Patriot, Gallia County area. William Beaver served in the 117th OVI with my great grandfather during the Civil War. The regiment suffered greatly with the mumps while serving in the Covington, KY area. In a letter written by my gg grandfather at home in Patriot, to his son in Covington he wrote: "Patriot Dec. 24, 1862... William Beaver is very bad with the mumps (or that is the report at school)." It will be interesting to see how you connect in with him! I'm psyched up about this now!

Your Gallia County cousin,

Linda Trent
