Dear Yvonne

I am very happy to hear from you. I did indeed change my email address some time ago. It became necessary after we were beseiged by spam. I live in Kingsley - which is north of Perth city. We are about 20 minutes from the city up the Mitchell Freeway.

Family History has been my passion for a very long time. I have hit a brick wall with the Eacott's but made some fascinating discoveries along the way and have made contact with family members all over the world. Thomas Eacott who married Charlotte Tuckey had a brother named Joseph who came out to Australia around the same time as Thomas. This little snipet of information was handed down through the family but no-one could add anything more than that. I did find a Joseph Eacott in Victoria but had nothing to connect him to our family until last year when I was contacted by a lady who lives in Queensland. She had the piece of the puzzle we needed and is a direct descendant of Joseph and therefore a distant cousin. We are currently combining efforts to learn more. In my quest to learn more about my ancestry, I did try to learn more about Charlotte's family but once more hit a brick wall. Perhaps you have had more luck....

I have been in contact with Dudley Tuckey who has organised knew headstones for Thomas and Charlotte's graves. I told him that I would be happy to pay for the inscriptions and I sent him the wording that I thought might be appropriate - added a little more than one normally would but because they were pioneers of Mandurah, I felt it would be most appropriate. Dudley told me he would let me know how much it came to (working on $2.50 a letter I believe) but I haven't heard anything more - I need to get back in touch with him in case he thinks I have backed out.

Look forward to hearing from you again.

Kind regards

Chris Hannan
