Larry: You need to see y book "German Speaking People West of The Catawba River in nC 1750-1800" which can be found in many libraries, even more than The Shoe Cobbler's Kin. Your family was not a part of ours. Not sure about the origins, but what I have on them is pretty detailed. If you can't find this book email to sckpub@eudoramail.com and request a flyer.
