To your message, Samuel Sr.married (1) an Eleanor Allen and she died in childbrith having their 7th child. He packed up his 6 children and came to Fayette County Ill., where he met and married(2)Catherine Ruskin. They had 8 more children. One of which was Samuel Eakin Jr.born Nov.28, 1835 died in 1917 who married on Mar. 6, 1856 to Maria Holt born in Tennessee Mar. 3, 1835 and died Sept.2,1902. Marie was a bonded woman. She was caucasian. Don't know her parents or sisters and brothers. I am of the opinion she was an orphan and was put in a home for working for her room and board. Like I said, I think it was in one of the Eakin households that she was bonded to. If this still makes sense to you, you can answer and I will try to send you a picture. It is so old, It comes out dark with a reddish hue to it. Ann
