Eakin Family Genealogy Forum

Debra,
Your post is most interesting. Our earliest known ancestor is William Eakin (spelled Eaken in his 1765 will). Family lore has him and his family migrating from Northern Ireland from around Londonderry. He settled in Noxamixon/Tinicum townships in Bucks Co., PA. He died there in July 1766. Five of his seven sons, Redmond, Thomas, Samuel, William and Robert were in Botetourt Co., VA between 1771 and 1774. His sixth son, Nathan joined his brothers Redmond and Thomas around 1781. Trace of Samuel, William and Robert was lost after the Revolutionary War. There were two Eakin's, Samuel and William that appeared in Washington Co., VA after the War but nothing confirms they were related to William Eakin, Sr. The Samuel Eakin of Washington Co., VA married an unknown Wilson. Robert Wilson witnessed Wm. Eakin Sr.s will in Bucks and had adjoining property. Samuel of WA Co. had a daughter Mary, who married a James Magill. Looking for clues and confirmations. Thanks,
Lee (and Curt) Eakin EakinArkiv@aol.com
