Hi Pat,
Thanks for the reply.
You said that Robert James Eakin was born 1826 in Pauldon, Jasper Co.,Ms.
Jasper Co. was not created until 1833, it was fromed after the Choctaw Cession. The land area that became Clark and Jasper Co. was in Jones and Wayne Counties in 1830. If Robert was born in 1826 he would have to have been born in one of these counties. Now if his father had land in one of the counties they may have not move just the county lines changed and in 1833 he would now be living in Jasper Co. or Clark Co. as this was also created next to Jasper Co. from the same land area.

The William Eakin in the 1830 Lawrence Co. is my William Eakin as far as I can tell. By 1835 he has moved to Madison Co. and listed as living there when he bought land in Attala Co. in 1835 Madison Co. county was a large one and in 1833 it was split up and the northern area became Attala Co. [created 1833]

If the David Eakin in 1830 Lawrence Co. was not yours I wonder who he is???????
More question, few answers, the hunt goes on.

Wanda
