I've been reading your posts and would like you to keep me in mind as you search the Eakin line from Ireland>MS>TX. I'm fairly hopeful my family fits into this line but just haven't figured out how.

My ggggrandmother was Marguerite Akin per family bible records. She was born in Ireland (don't know when) and married Thomas W.H. McCall by 1850 in MS. I have yet to find them in the 1850 census records. They had 2 children: Rebecca Ann McCall - b. 1851 MS and Mary Ellen McCall - b. 1854 Cherokee Co., TX. Family story has it that Marguerite died either in or shortly after childbirth with Mary Ellen. T.W.H. McCall remarried Jane Winchester in Cherokee Co., TX in 1857.

In 1860 Houston Co., TX census - Elias Aikens (b. 1835 MS) and his wife Susan lived next door to my T.W.H. McCall. Maybe coincidence but this Elias was the son of David Eakin that also went to Cherokee Co., TX about 1854.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. I would love to figure out how we tie into the Eakin line.
