I'm not actually related. I'm helping one of the descendants of Andrew Morris and Mary Elizabeth Earthman aka Betsy in her father's will.
What I've been able to pull together are the marriages of his children and several suits that were involved. I've sent them off to the friend. It appears that son Isaac tried to have the codicil declared invalid but it stood up to his challenge.
From what I can sort of put together, the Morris family, the Earthman family and the Waggoner family may all have come from NC together. I'm trying to find Andrew Morris' parents. He and Elizabeth had at least 2 sons, Isaac Earthman Morris and Peter B. Morris. Isaac E supposedly died in the 2nd Seminole War in 1836. He had a wife and 4 children. Peter B. Morris was a justice of the peace, did many land transactions in Nashville , married in 1842 when he was about 42, had 6 children, 5 living in 1850. He died in 1855 and is buried in Nashville City Cemetery. His wife appears to be the one who died in 1858. I can't locate his children in 1860 and somewhere, someone has to have been named a guardian as they were all under age. I can locate his son Isaac Taylor Morris in 1870 and after that but none of the sisters so far.
Some one joined DAR through ISaac Earthman Morris and his parents through Isaac Earthman and his service.
