will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will
no longer be available, including member subscriptions and the Shop.
I, too, descend from John and Elizabeth Eberly of Mercer Co., KY through their daughter, Margaret who married Lambert Dorland Banta. I have a copy of The Mackeys and Eberlys of Texas. I also have a number of pieces of correspondence from Josie Hoskinson (the author) almost up to the time of her death. I have a number of photos which were passed down through the family. One is of Amasetta Eberly (Jacob Eberly's daughter). I would never have been able to identify it had it not been for a picture of her in Hoskinson's book. It is a tintype and is a picture of her at a younger age than in the book, but no doubt it is her. Amasetta would have been a first cousin to my great-grandmother, Sarah Ellen Banta England. I also have several unidentified photos from the 1800's which were taken in Texas studios. Did any of the Eberly family live in Van Alstyne, TX, Seymore, TX, or Amarillo? The one taken in Amarillo is an infant and marked "Edna" on the back. The other two are men who look similar. I also have 4-5 more unidentifed photos - one taken in Los Angeles.
Like everyone I've been trying to figure out which John Eberly is the one who went to Kentucky. Joan Murray
