There was a John Ellenwood that was born 8/26/1776 in Nova Scotia to Samuel and Sarah (Giles) Ellenwood. John married Nancy(?) sometime before the birth of their daughter Sarah Giles Ellenwood in 1803,(they had 13 children). Evidently Samuel and wife Sarah moved to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia from Rockingham County, New Hampshire where they were married (I have no date listed). Samuel had 8 siblings, as far as I know they remained in the United States in Massechusetts or New Hampshire. Samuel and Sarah had ten children including John (above). Other children were; Mary (b 9/21/1762), Sarah (b 2/3/1767), Abigail (b 10/11/1769), Giles (b 8/20/1771), Samuel (b 9/18/1773), John (above), Martha (b 9/2/1778), Hannah (b 4/21/1781), Elizabeth (b 2/2/1784), Lydia, (b 2/7/1785. Giles married Jemima Sullivan and had 10 children. Abigail married William Saunders, no other information on them. I don't have anything else on the rest of the children, but I am wondering if your "Anna" is actually "Hannah" d/o Samuel and Sarah, and "Elizabeth" (other daughter of Samuel and Sarah)is her sister and same "Elizabeth" you have listed. They were surely born in Nova Scotia since they were younger than brother John. Just speculation but kind of eerie the dates are close. I have nothing on why Samuel would move from his home and family in the U.S. for Nova Scotia. Perhaps it is as you said due to military service Hope this helps. If you find out anymore on the Ellenwood family, I'd be interested in the information. I have connections to the Eldridge/Eldredge family through another line (Doty) that also married into the Ellenwood line.
