Elizabeth Ellerbee

Searching for info on my great grandmother, Elizabeth G. Ellerbee, born July 16, 1803 in Georgia and died April 16, 1900 in Calhoun, Georgia and is buried in the Fain Cemetery of Calhoun, Georgia. There is an Elizabeth Ellerbee listed as marrying John W. Ellis on December 9, 1847 in Greene County, Georgia. The same names are also listed in the 1860 census of Newton County, Georgia, with a son, Matthew, age 12. There is also a Matthew Edward Ellis (my grandfather) born Sept. 13, 1844, and William Ellis (no info on him) listed in the Poor School List for 462nd GMD, Newton County in 1860 and 1862. Rumor has it that John enlisted in the Civil war and never returned home so he was thought to have died in the war, but rather than returning home, he actually went to another state (possibly Oklahoma, and started another family!). Any further information on this family would be appreciated.
Thank you,
June
