Hi all fellow Elsdon's. I too thought Elsdon was not a common name. I was in South Africa and moved to the UK about 18 months ago, knowing that my grandmothers side came from Wales. Imagine my shock in finding my roots are traced back till 1797 so far to mountnessing Essex!
