Hi there and yes I am an Emily researcher. My grandmother was Ollie May Emily, daughter of Sarah Florence Applegate and William F. Emily.
I only have the Emily's back as far as a James Emily who married Emily Hurst. They had a son John W. Emery (Notice the name change to Emery) John was b. 10/1850 Harrison Co., Ind. I don't show a Samuel in this line but, that doesn't mean that there wasn't one. John F. Emily had a twin brother by name of James Albert Emily who also married an Applegate (Ida Mae Applegate) Most, if not all of this line are buried in the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon, Harrison Co., Ind. You might try to find records from there that could help you.
