Hope it points you in the right direction. I have a Valentine Esch from Croettwiller, Bas Rhin, Alsace who came over to Ontario, Canada approx. 1840-2 with his wife's family. She was Catherine Higenell from Trimbach, Alsace.
He has other relatives that also came over and I could direct you further if you wish. As I am on the Higenell side, I don't have a much as some other relatives.
