I don't know much about my family's history but some of what you wrote sounds familiar. My great grandfather was a John Etienne from Chicago. I don't know off hand who he married. John had 4 children, 2 boys (Joseph & Robert) and 2 girls (Agnes & unknown)<unknown order of birth>. My grandfather is Joseph F. Etienne (1904-1979) of Chicago who married my grandmother Grace Evelyn Van Camp (1905-1989) of Austin, Minn in 1931. They moved out to L.A. in the 1930's then finally settled in New Orleans in the 1940's. They had one son, Joseph F. (Jr.), my father who had 2 sons. I now have a son, John P. Etienne. I believe that Agnes & Robert moved out west also. Agnes may still be alive. Please contact me if this information is helpful.
